Ble Patumrach x Man Phisitphongเบิ้ล ปทุมราช x แมน ภิสิทธิ์พงษ์

What the song is about

ปลายฟ้าbplaai-fáa, “Plai Fa (The Edge of the Sky)”, is a luk thung song by Ble Patumrach x Man Phisitphong (2025). One of YouTube Thailand's five most-watched music videos of 2025: two Isan singers in the voice of a man who could only walk the woman he loves half the way, and now lets another man take her to the edge of the sky they dreamed of, with no anger and no complaints. It teaches Isan's words for going on, worrying, being angry and grumbling, and the Thai way to say 'only this far' and 'only halfway'.

Key lines, explained

Tap a line to hear it. Once the video is playing, lines jump to their moment in the song.

We set our dreams at the edge of the sky.

The title. ฝันfǎn = to dream; a dream. เอาไว้ao wái after a verb = and keep it, set it there: ฝันเอาไว้fǎn ao wái = to hold a dream. ที่tîi = at. ปลายbplaai = the tip, the far end, and ฟ้าfáa = sky: ปลายฟ้าbplaai-fáa = the edge of the sky, as far as you can see. The next line comes down to earth: fate keeps them on the ground.

Go on, my darling, don't worry about me.

Isan → Central: ไปโลดbpai lôot = ไปเลยbpai loei, go on, go ahead (โลดlôot = เลยloei); เด้อdôe = นะná; บ่ต้องbàw dtâwng = ไม่ต้องmâi dtâwng, no need to, don't. หล่าlàa is what Isan parents call their youngest child, and a man calls the woman he loves: darling. ห่วงhùang = to worry about someone you care for: ไม่ต้องห่วงmâi dtâwng hùang = don't worry (about me).

I can see you off this far, and no further.

The hook. ส่งsòng = to send, and also to take someone somewhere and see them off: ไปส่งbpai sòng = to drop someone off, มาส่งmaa sòng = to come along to see someone off. เจ้าjâo = you, to a loved one. ไว้wái = and leave you there. Isan ส่ำsàm = แค่kâe, only this much: ส่ำนี้sàm níi = แค่นี้kâe níi, this far, and หละlà = ละlá, that's that.

No anger, no bitterness, no complaints at all.

Three Isan 'nots' in a row: บ่bàw = ไม่mâi. Isan เคียดkîat = โกรธgròot, angry; ขมkǒm = bitter, as in Central Thai (the taste, and the feeling); Isan จ่มjòm = บ่นbòn, to grumble, to complain. อีหยังii-yǎng = อะไรà-rai, what; after a 'not' it means 'anything at all': บ่จ่มอีหยังbàw jòm ii-yǎng = ไม่บ่นอะไรmâi bòn à-rai, I'm not complaining about anything.

It probably won't be me who walks you there.

The end of the chorus: the edge of the sky they dreamed of. คงkong = probably. Isan บ่แม่นbàw mâen = ไม่ใช่mâi châi, it isn't, not: คงบ่แม่นอ้ายkong bàw mâen âai = it probably won't be me. สิsì = จะjà, will. พาpaa = to take someone along, and Isan หย่างyàang (also written ย่างyâang) = เดินdoen, to walk: พาเจ้าหย่างpaa jâo yàang = to walk you there.

I could only see you halfway.

The last words of the song. Verb + ได้แค่dâi kâe = could only (do it this much): กินได้แค่ครึ่งgin dâi kâe krûeng = I could only eat half. ครึ่งkrûeng = half and ทางtaang = way: ครึ่งทางkrûeng taang = halfway. He ends by wishing her luck: may her dream come true at the edge of the sky.

Grammar in this song

Isan in a farewell. บ่bàw = ไม่mâi (not), สิsì = จะjà (will), บ่แม่นbàw mâen = ไม่ใช่mâi châi (it isn't), เด้อdôe = นะná, โลดlôot = เลยloei (go ahead), อีหยังii-yǎng = อะไรà-rai (what, anything). Feelings: เคียดkîat = โกรธgròot (angry), จ่มjòm = บ่นbòn (to grumble). The romanization reads these words as their spelling would sound in Central Thai; real Isan tones differ, so copy the singers.

Not… anything. A question word after a negative means 'any': บ่จ่มอีหยังbàw jòm ii-yǎng = I'm not complaining about anything; in Central Thai, ไม่มีอะไรmâi mii à-rai = there's nothing, ไม่มีใครmâi mii krai = there's nobody.

Only this much. แค่kâe = only, just, and Isan says ส่ำsàm: แค่นี้kâe níi / ส่ำนี้sàm níi = only this much, this far. With a verb, ได้แค่dâi kâe = could only: มาส่งได้แค่ครึ่งทางmaa sòng dâi kâe krûeng taang = I could only see you halfway.

The culture behind it

Ble Patumrach (เบิ้ลปทุมราชbôen bpà-tum-râat) was born Athit Somnoi in 1996 in Pathum Ratchawongsa district, Amnat Charoen, and named himself after it. He wrote 'Plai Fa' and sings it with Man Phisitphong (แมนภิสิทธิ์พงษ์maen pí-sìt-pong), a 25-time champion of Workpoint's singing game show ไมค์หมดหนี้mai mòt nîi ('the mic that clears your debts'), for whom this song was the breakthrough (Khaosod). Released on Ble's own channel on 27 June 2025, the video passed 32 million views in its first month, and Google named it YouTube Thailand's fifth most-watched music video of 2025. In July 2025 it stood at number two on Billboard Thailand's country chart, behind Did Kitty's Phu Bao Suea Pui, which is also on our songs page.

The song is a farewell without blame. The couple once promised to go all the way to ปลายฟ้าbplaai-fáa, the edge of the sky, together, but life kept them on the ground. Now she goes on with someone else, and he walks her as far as he can, wishes her luck and lets the other man take her the rest of the way. In Isan and in luk thung, a man calls the woman he loves น้องnáwng or หล่าlàa, 'little one', and นางnaang; she calls him อ้ายâai, 'older brother'.
