Jealous (อย่ามากกว่าฉันก็พอ): meaning and key lines
GAVIN:D x Violette Wautier
What the song is about
อย่ามากกว่าฉันก็พอyàa mâak gwàa chǎn gâw paw, “Jealous (Just Not More Than Me)”, is a T-pop song by GAVIN:D x Violette Wautier (2026). Number one in Thailand in October 2026, on the Official Thailand Chart and on Spotify's daily chart: an ex scrolls through his former girlfriend's posts and stories, pretends it doesn't hurt, and wishes her well, as long as she isn't happier than she was with him. In this version Violette Wautier sings the woman's side. It is a crash course in social-media Thai (post, story, tag, timeline) and in everyday comparisons: not as much as, more than, that's all I ask.

- เห็น hěnเธอ toeลงโพสต์ long póotอัป ápสตอรี่ sà-dtaw-rîiใหม่ mài
I see you've put up a post and a new story.
Social-media Thai is half English: ลงโพสต์long póot = to post (literally 'to put down a post'), อัปสตอรี่áp sà-dtaw-rîi = to put up a story, แท็กtàek = to tag. เห็นhěn = to see; ใหม่mài = new. - แท็ก tàekไป bpaiถึง tǔengเขา kǎoทุกๆ túk-túkไทม์ไลน์ tai-lai
and tagged him on every single timeline.
แท็กtàek = to tag (someone in a post); แท็กไปถึงเขาtàek bpai tǔeng kǎo = to tag him, literally 'tag it all the way to him'. ทุกๆtúk-túk = every single, a stronger ทุกtúk: ทุกๆวันtúk-túk wan = every single day. ไทม์ไลน์tai-lai = timeline: the letters carrying the silent mark ไม้ทัณฑฆาตmáai tan-tá-kâat aren't pronounced, so the English m and n disappear. - อยากรู้ yàak rúuว่า wâaเค้า káoน่ะ nâมี miiดี diiที่ tîiตรงไหน dtrong-nǎi
I'd like to know what's so great about him.
มีดีmii dii = to have something good going for you; มีดีที่ตรงไหนmii dii tîi dtrong-nǎi = what's so good about him? (literally 'where does he have the good?'), a jealous, slightly cheeky question. เค้าkáo is เขาkǎo (he) as it's said and typed. น่ะnâ after a person = as for him… อยากรู้ว่าyàak rúu wâa = to want to know (whether, what). - แต่ dtàeก็ gâwคง kongไม่ mâiเท่า tâoตอน dtawnเธอ toeรัก rákฉัน chǎn
but it's probably not as good as when you loved me.
The line before says it must be nice when she loves him; this one turns it round. ไม่เท่าmâi tâo = not as much as, not as good as: อาหารที่นี่ไม่เท่าที่บ้านaa-hǎan tîi nîi mâi tâo tîi bâan = the food here isn't as good as at home. คงkong = probably. ตอนdtawn + clause = when, at the time when: ตอนเธอรักฉันdtawn toe rák chǎn = when you loved me. Thai doesn't mark the past on the verb: here only the situation tells you that love is over. - มีความสุข mii kwaam-sùkกับ gàpเขา kǎoมากๆ mâak-mâakนะ náเธอ toe
Be really happy with him, OK?
มีความสุขmii kwaam-sùk = to be happy, literally 'to have happiness'; มีความสุขมากๆนะmii kwaam-sùk mâak-mâak ná is how Thais wish someone well, on birthdays too. Doubling a word with the repeat mark ไม้ยมกmáai yá-mók makes it stronger: มากๆmâak-mâak = very, very. นะná softens the wish, and เธอtoe at the end is a tender 'you', a little like 'dear'. - แต่ dtàeอย่า yàaมาก mâakกว่า gwàaตอน dtawnรัก rákฉัน chǎnก็ gâwพอ paw
Just not happier than when you loved me, that's all.
The title line, with the catch after the kind wish. อย่าyàa + verb or adjective = don't; มากกว่าmâak gwàa = more than: อย่ามากกว่าตอนรักฉันyàa mâak gwàa dtawn rák chǎn = don't let it be more than when you loved me. ก็พอgâw paw at the end = that's enough, that's all I ask: แค่นี้ก็พอkâe níi gâw paw = this much is enough. - กลัว gluaเขา kǎoจะ jàทำให้ tam-hâiเธอ toeเสียใจ sǐa-jai
I'm afraid she'll make you sad.
Violette sings this verse, from the woman's side: she is talking to her ex about his new girlfriend, so here เขาkǎo is 'she'. Thai เขาkǎo (he, she) and เธอtoe (you) don't show who is a man or a woman, so the same words work for both singers; in GAVIN:D's own version the line means 'I'm afraid he'll make you sad'. ทำให้tam-hâi + person + feeling = to make someone feel something: ทำให้เธอเสียใจtam-hâi toe sǐa-jai = to make you sad, ทำให้ฉันยิ้มtam-hâi chǎn yím = makes me smile. กลัวglua + clause = to be afraid that; the lyric sheet has กลัวว่าglua wâa, and in speech the ว่าwâa is often dropped, as it is here. Real worry, or jealousy? The song leaves it to you.

Grammar in this song
Comparing: มากกว่าmâak gwàa = more than, adjective + กว่าgwàa = more … than (ดีกว่าdii gwàa, better), and ไม่เท่าmâi tâo = not as … as: ไม่เท่าตอนเธอรักฉันmâi tâo dtawn toe rák chǎn (not as good as when you loved me), ไม่ร้อนเท่าเมื่อวานmâi ráwn tâo mûea-waan (not as hot as yesterday).

The culture behind it
GAVIN:D (Gavin Duval) released his first song at 17 and rapped with hip-hop groups before reinventing himself as a singer of heartbreak songs; fans call him 'Daddy Gavin' and, for those songs, 'the sad-song killer'. "อย่ามากกว่าฉันก็พอyàa mâak gwàa chǎn gâw paw" (Jealous), written by PURE KANIN, is on his album ROOM101 (March 2026). In September 2026 he recorded four of the album's songs again as IN MY ROOM SESSION, rearranged by Toon of Three Man Down, and asked Violette Wautier to sing the woman's side of this one. Violette, a Thai-Belgian singer-songwriter and actress, first became known on The Voice Thailand in 2013.
The duet took off: in October 2026 the song was number one on the Official Thailand Chart, and the duet topped Spotify's daily chart in Thailand. The song lives on social media, with an ex's stories watched in secret, a new partner tagged everywhere and love declared only online, and Thai borrows nearly all of that vocabulary from English, giving it Thai tones: โพสต์póot, สตอรี่sà-dtaw-rîi, แท็กtàek, ไทม์ไลน์tai-lai.
