particle for suggestions: let's, go ahead and… particle
- tòe low
- Low: flat and lower than your normal voice, dropping a little at the end.
How to use it
เถอะtòe turns a verb into a gentle push or a suggestion: ไปกันเถอะbpai gan tòe, let's go; พักก่อนเถอะpák gàwn tòe, take a break first. It's warm and persuasive, never an order. In relaxed speech it often sounds like เหอะhòe, and ช่างมันเถอะchâang man tòe is "forget it, let it go".
