How to use it
เต้าหู้dtâo-hûu comes from Chinese, like many Thai food words. Firm tofu goes into pad thai and clear soups, and deep-fried cubes come with sweet chilli sauce. Careful if you're vegan: soft "egg tofu", เต้าหู้ไข่dtâo-hûu kài, is made with egg.
Soy milk is น้ำเต้าหู้náam-dtâo-hûu, "tofu water".
