Wine in Thai

“Wine” in Thai is ไวน์waai.

ไวน์ waai

wine noun

  • waai mid
  • Mid: level, in your normal speaking voice.

How to use it

Said like the English, with the final letter silent: waai. Red wine is ไวน์แดงwaai daeng and white wine ไวน์ขาวwaai kǎao. Imported wine carries heavy taxes, so even a simple bottle costs far more than in Europe. Thailand makes some wine of its own, in the hills of Khao Yai and near Hua Hin.
