What the song is about
มากกว่าที่รักmâak gwàa tîi-rák, “More Than Words (Mak Kwa Thi Rak)”, is a T-pop song by Emi Thasorn (2025). The love song of Us (2025), GMMTV's girls' love series about a 19-year-old cafe worker who falls for a dental student, sung by Emi Thasorn, who plays the student. Its title plays on the Thai word for darling: what she feels is more than a pet name. The lines are clear and slow, full of everyday B1 Thai: do you feel the same, since the day we met, it has to be you and only you, every time I hear, I'm never afraid.

- รู้สึก rúu-sùekเหมือนกัน mǔean-ganใช่ไหม châi mǎi
You feel the same, don't you?
The song's first words. รู้สึกrúu-sùek = to feel. เหมือนกันmǔean-gan = the same, alike; after a verb, too: ฉันก็ชอบเหมือนกันchǎn gâw châwp mǔean-gan = I like it too. ใช่ไหมchâi mǎi at the end checks that you're right, like "don't you?": หิวใช่ไหมhǐu châi mǎi = you're hungry, aren't you? Thai leaves out "you" and "I" when it's clear who is meant. - ตั้งแต่ dtâng-dtàeวัน wanที่ tîiเรา raoได้ dâiพบ póp
Since the day we met,
ตั้งแต่dtâng-dtàe = since, from (a time): ตั้งแต่เมื่อวานdtâng-dtàe mûea-waan = since yesterday. วันที่wan tîi + what happened = the day (that)… (วันที่wan-tîi as one word is a date). ได้dâi before a verb = got to, had the chance to: ได้พบdâi póp = got to meet. พบpóp is the written, sung word for เจอjoe, to meet. - แต่ dtàeมัน manต้อง dtâwngเป็น bpenเธอ toeเท่านั้น tâo-nán
But it has to be you, only you.
The last line before the chorus. มันman = it, the situation. ต้องdtâwng = must, has to: ต้องเป็นเธอdtâwng bpen toe = it has to be you. เท่านั้นtâo-nán comes after the thing it limits: X เท่านั้นtâo-nán = only X, X and nothing else: เงินสดเท่านั้นngoen-sòt tâo-nán = cash only, a sign you'll see at markets. แค่kâe and เพียงpiang say "only" too, but go before the thing: แค่เธอkâe toe. - มัน manมาก mâakกว่า gwàaคำ kamว่า wâaที่รัก tîi-rák
It's more than the word "darling",
The title. มากกว่าmâak gwàa = more than: กว่าgwàa makes comparisons, ดีกว่าdii gwàa = better. คำว่าkam wâa + a word = the word…: คำว่ารักkam wâa rák = the word "love". ที่รักtîi-rák = darling, my love, literally "the one who is loved" (ที่tîi = who, that + รักrák = to love). So what she feels is more than a pet name. - ที่รัก tîi-rákทุก túkครั้ง krángที่ tîiได้ยิน dâi-yinคำ kamว่า wâaรัก rák
Darling, every time I hear the word "love",
ทุกครั้งที่túk kráng tîi + what happens = every time…: ทุกครั้งที่ฝนตกtúk kráng tîi fǒn dtòk = every time it rains. ครั้งkráng = a time, an occasion: ครั้งแรกkráng râek = the first time. ได้ยินdâi-yin = to hear (a sound reaches you); ฟังfang = to listen. - รู้ rúuไหม mǎiฉัน chǎnไม่ mâiเคย koeiกลัว glua
You know what? I'm never afraid,
From the second verse. รู้ไหมrúu mǎi = do you know?, here "you know what?", to share something. ไม่เคยmâi koei + verb = never, have never: ไม่เคยไปmâi koei bpai = I've never been; เคยkoei alone = have ever, used to. กลัวglua = to be afraid. The reason comes next: she knows she won't be alone.
Words you'll learn

Follow it with how you feel: รู้สึกดีขึ้นrúu-sùek dii kûen (I feel better).

Two meanings: 'alike' (ไม่เหมือนกันmâi mǔean-gan different) and 'too' at the end of a reply: ชอบเหมือนกันchâwp mǔean-gan I like it too.
- ตั้งแต่ dtâng-dtàe
since; from (a time)
ตั้งแต่dtâng-dtàe + a time or an event: ตั้งแต่เมื่อวานdtâng-dtàe mûea-waan since yesterday. With ถึงtǔeng it's 'from … to': ตั้งแต่เช้าถึงเย็นdtâng-dtàe cháao tǔeng yen from morning to evening.
- พบ póp
to meet; to find (formal)
- เท่านั้น tâo-nán
only (after the thing: … only)

What couples call each other, like "darling" or "babe".

It goes before the verb: เคยไปkoei bpai have been; ไม่เคยmâi koei never.
- กลัว glua
to be afraid (of), scared
What you're afraid of comes straight after it, with no word for of: กลัวทะเลglua tá-lee (scared of the sea).
Grammar in this song
More than: มากกว่าmâak gwàa. กว่าgwàa after a describing word makes a comparison, and the thing compared comes next: แพงกว่าpaeng gwàa = more expensive, ดีกว่าเมื่อวานdii gwàa mûea-waan = better than yesterday. มากกว่าmâak gwàa = more than: มากกว่าเพื่อนmâak gwàa pûean = more than friends.
Only: before or after. แค่kâe and the written เพียงpiang go before the thing: แค่นี้kâe níi = just this. เท่านั้นtâo-nán goes after it: วันนี้เท่านั้นwan-níi tâo-nán = today only. Songs often use both at once for emphasis: แค่เธอเท่านั้นkâe toe tâo-nán = only you.
Every time, never: ทุกครั้งที่túk kráng tîi, ไม่เคยmâi koei. ทุกครั้งที่túk kráng tîi + what happens = every time: ทุกครั้งที่เจอเธอtúk kráng tîi joe toe = every time I see you. ไม่เคยmâi koei + verb = never: ไม่เคยลืมmâi koei luuem = I've never forgotten.
The culture behind it
Us (รักของเราrák kǎwng rao, "our love"), made by GMMTV with Nar-ra-tor from a novel by Chao Planoy and directed by Kanittha Kwunyoo, aired on GMM25 and on GMMTV's YouTube channel from 18 January to 5 April 2025. It was GMMTV's third girls' love series. Dokrak (Bonnie Pattraphus), 19, takes a year off after high school to live on her own, away from a controlling father, and works part-time at a cafe in an art gallery. There she meets Pam (Emi Thasorn), a 22-year-old dental student who comes in to study, and quietly falls for her, until her own older brother falls for Pam at first sight and asks Dokrak to help him win her.
Emi, who plays Pam, sings this song; its video came out on 27 February 2025, while the series was on air. The words and music are by PURE KANIN and Jeaniich, two of the Wisp Team that produced it. PURE KANIN also wrote GAVIN:D's "Jealous", another song in this library. Chao Planoy wrote the novel behind GAP The Series too, whose theme "Pink Theory" is in this library.
ที่รักtîi-rák is what Thai couples call each other, like "darling" or "babe"; others are ตัวเองdtua-eeng (literally "oneself") and the English-sounding เบบี๋bee-bǐi.
