- ก็ gâwรู้ rúuว่า wâaเธอ toeไม่ค่อย mâi kâwyมีใจ mii jai
I know you don't really have feelings for me.
ไม่ค่อยmâi kâwy = not really, not very: ไม่ค่อยว่างmâi kâwy wâang = not very free; ไม่ค่อยชอบmâi kâwy châwp = don't really like it. มีใจmii jai, "to have a heart (for)", = to have feelings for someone: เขามีใจให้เธอkǎo mii jai hâi toe = he has feelings for you. รู้ว่าrúu wâa = to know that; ก็gâw at the start = well, after all. - ฉัน chǎnไม่ mâiยอม yawmให้ hâiเธอ toeเดิน doenไป bpaiกับ gàpใคร kraiคน konไหน nǎi
I won't let you walk off with anyone else.
The title. ยอมyawm = to give in, to agree, to let something happen; ไม่ยอมให้mâi yawm hâi + person + verb = to refuse to let someone do something: แม่ไม่ยอมให้ไปmâe mâi yawm hâi bpai = Mom won't let me go. เดินไปกับdoen bpai gàp = to walk off with, to go out with. ใครคนไหนkrai kon nǎi = anyone at all, whoever it is. Men sing ฉันchǎn for "I" too (a tap says "female speaker"); in conversation a man says ผมpǒm. - นาน naanแค่ไหน kâe-nǎiก็ตาม gâw dtaam
No matter how long it takes.
Adjective + แค่ไหนkâe-nǎi + ก็ตามgâw dtaam = no matter how…: นานแค่ไหนก็ตามnaan kâe-nǎi gâw dtaam = however long; ไกลแค่ไหนก็ตามglai kâe-nǎi gâw dtaam = however far. ก็ตามgâw dtaam follows other question words too: ใครก็ตามkrai gâw dtaam = whoever. Kaownah sings แค่kâe fast and soft here, almost like กันgan. - ไม่ mâiรู้ rúuเมื่อไหร่ mûea-ràiที่ tîiเธอ toeจะ jàมอง mawngมา maaที่ tîiฉัน chǎn
I don't know when you'll ever look my way.
ไม่รู้mâi rúu + a question word = I don't know (when, why, who…). เมื่อไหร่mûea-rài = when: เมื่อไหร่ที่mûea-rài tîi + clause = when it is that… มองmawng = to look: มองมาที่ฉันmawng maa tîi chǎn = to look over at me (มาmaa after a verb = towards me; ที่tîi = at). - ก็ gâwเพราะว่า práw wâaเธอ toeคือ kuueคน konคน konนั้น nán
Because you're the one.
เพราะว่าpráw wâa = because, the fuller form of เพราะpráw. คือkuue = is, when it identifies: เธอคือคนนั้นtoe kuue kon nán = you are the one. คนคนนั้นkon kon nán = that person: "that …" is noun + counting word + นั้นnán (หมาตัวนั้นmǎa dtua nán = that dog), and the counting word for people is คนkon itself; คนคนนี้kon kon níi = this person.

Grammar in this song
Won't let: ไม่ยอมให้mâi yawm hâi + person + verb. ยอมyawm alone is to give in or accept (ยอมแพ้yawm páe = to give up); with ให้hâi it means to let someone do something, and ไม่mâi turns it into a flat refusal: ไม่ยอมให้ใครเข้าmâi yawm hâi krai kâo = I won't let anyone in.
No matter how: adjective + แค่ไหนkâe-nǎi + ก็ตามgâw dtaam. แพงแค่ไหนก็ตามpaeng kâe-nǎi gâw dtaam = however expensive. The result follows with ก็gâw: ยากแค่ไหนก็จะทำyâak kâe-nǎi gâw jà tam = however hard it is, I'll do it.
Not really: ไม่ค่อยmâi kâwy. A softer "not" that Thais use all the time, often to be polite: ไม่ค่อยเผ็ดmâi kâwy pèt = not very spicy; ไม่ค่อยสบายmâi kâwy sà-baai = not feeling very well.
The culture behind it
TharnType (เกลียดนักมาเป็นที่รักกันซะดีๆglìat nák maa bpen tîi rák gan sá dii-dii, roughly "if you hate me so much, just be my love", 2019-20) adapts MAME's web novel and was produced by her own company, Me Mind Y. Type (Gulf Kanawut), a first-year student who loves football and spicy food, can't stand gay men because of abuse he suffered as a boy; his new roommate, Tharn (Mew Suppasit), is a music student who is openly gay and refuses to move out. Shown late on Monday nights on One 31 from October 2019 to January 2020, it follows how their hostility turns into love, a physical love included, and won its stars best-couple awards.
"ไม่ยอมmâi yawm" was written by Jirapat Chanjang and Janpat Montrelerdrasme. Jirapat (Pop) sings it at the start of each episode; this second version, released with its own video seven weeks after the first, is sung by Kaownah Kittipat, who plays Lhong in the series. The video cuts in scenes from the series, some of them in bed. The song itself is one long refusal to let anyone else near the one he loves.
