What the song is about
ถ้าเราเจอกันอีกtâa rao joe gan ìik, “Until Then (If We Meet Again)”, is a T-pop song by Tilly Birds (2021). The last song on Tilly Birds' album It's Gonna Be OK (2021), written by their singer Third after he lost his mother and father within a short time: if we ever meet again, will you still remember me? He kept it open so that anyone who has lost someone, to death or to a breakup, can hear their own story in it. Its lines teach some day, to remember, to wait, however long, always, have you ever, and the Thai way to say I don't blame you.

However long it takes, I can always wait for you.

The culture behind it
Tilly Birds are a Bangkok pop-rock trio, Third (vocals), Billy (guitar) and Milo (drums), who made their name on GeneLab, a GMM Grammy label. Third and Billy started the band at school, and its name is a spoonerism of theirs: swap the first sounds of Third Billy and you get Tilly Bird. Swapping sounds like this, คำผวนkam-pǔan, is a favourite Thai word game.
"ถ้าเราเจอกันอีกtâa rao joe gan ìik" closes their second album, It's Gonna Be OK, released on 25 November 2021. Third wrote the words with Chamil Arin and Babepoom after losing his dog, then his mother and his father, who never got to see the band's success. Many listeners hear a lost love in it, and that fits what he wanted: he has said he tried to make it speak not only to people who lost someone the way he did, but to anyone facing another kind of parting. Nont Tanont, Jannine Weigel and Proud are among the guest voices in its choir. In February 2022 it became the first number one of Billboard's new Thailand Songs chart, and it won Song of the Year at the TOTY Music Awards 2021. This is the official lyric video; the music video that followed in April 2022 turns the song into a game of hide-and-seek in which a boy opens his eyes and his parents are gone.
