Even more in Thai

“Even more” in Thai is ยิ่งyîng.

ยิ่ง yîng

even more, all the more; the more … (the more …) adverb

  • yîng falling
  • Falling: start high and drop clearly, like a firm “No!”

How to use it

ยิ่งyîng is "even more". Said twice, it's the Thai "the more …, the more …": ยิ่งเร็วยิ่งดีyîng rew yîng dii, the sooner the better. Once, before a describing word, it's "all the more": when a friend offers to drive you, ยิ่งดีเลยyîng dii loei, even better! Writing adds ขึ้นkûen for "more and more", ยิ่งขึ้นyîng kûen. Mind the tone: falling ยิ่งyîng; mid ยิงying is to shoot.

Don't mix it up

  • ยิงying

    to shoot

    Mid tone: to shoot.
