How to use it

ต่อจากนี้dtàw jàak níi, "on from this", and ต่อไปนี้dtàw-bpai-níi, "onward from this", both start something new: a rule, a promise, a fresh start. Thais often add ไปbpai, onward, after the first, ต่อจากนี้ไปdtàw jàak níi bpai; the shorter จากนี้jàak níi, or จากนี้ไปjàak níi bpai, and ตั้งแต่นี้ไปdtâng-dtàe níi bpai, "since this, onward", mean the same. In writing and announcements, ต่อไปนี้dtàw-bpai-níi also introduces a list: "the following".
