Speaking practice: If I were you

Phrases to say out loud
Listen, then say each one. In the app the speech trainer scores your tones word by word.
- ถ้า tâaเป็น bpenผม pǒmจะ jàลอง lawngดู duu
If I were you, I'd give it a try.

Don't quit just yet.
อย่าyàa is low and level, not falling like ถ้าtâa. Keep the aa long in both. - ถ้า tâaไม่ mâiลอง lawngก็ gâwจะ jàเสียดาย sǐa-daai
If you don't try, you'll regret it.

เลี้ยงlíang is high: start high and climb a little, then a level เองeeng. - เงินเดือน ngoen-dueanดี diiไหม mǎi
Is the salary good?
เงินngoen starts with ng, the sound at the end of 'sing'. Hum it, then open your mouth. - ตอนนี้ dtawn-níiเครียด krîatมาก mâak
I'm really stressed right now.
เครียดkrîat: k and r together, then a fall. Then fall again on มากmâak. - ยัง yangตัดสินใจ dtàt-sǐn-jaiไม่ mâiได้ dâi
I still can't decide.
ตัดสินใจdtàt-sǐn-jai: short and low, then rising, then mid.
Role-play: Should Boss take the job?
Boss calls you the night before he has to give the start-up his answer. Listen to his worries and give him your advice.
Your goals with Boss
