clothes noun

Literally 'tops and cloth': the everyday word for clothing of any kind.
- ที่นี่ tîi-nîiเสื้อผ้า sûea-pâaถูก tùukมาก mâak
  Clothes are really cheap here.
- อยาก yàakซื้อ súueเสื้อผ้า sûea-pâaใหม่ mài
  I want to buy some new clothes.

shirt, top noun · classifier ตัว

Any top: T-shirt, shirt or blouse. Clothes are counted with ตัวdtua: เสื้อสองตัวsûea sǎwng dtua two shirts.

  This shirt is really nice.

กางเกง gaang-geeng
trousers noun · classifier ตัว

Jeans, shorts or baggy elephant trousers: all กางเกงgaang-geeng, and one pair is one ตัวdtua. Shorts are กางเกงขาสั้นgaang-geeng kǎa sân, 'short-leg trousers'.

skirt noun · classifier ตัว

Temples ask you to cover your knees: a long กระโปรงgrà-bproong or trousers is perfect.

  This skirt is really pretty.

รองเท้า rawng-táao
shoes noun · classifier คู่

Counted in pairs with คู่kûu. Take them off before you step into a home or a temple hall.

hat, cap noun · classifier ใบ

Counted with ใบbai, like bags: หมวกใบนี้mùak bai níi this hat.

ผ้า pâa
cloth, fabric noun

You know it from ซักผ้าsák pâa (do the laundry: wash cloth) and ผ้าเช็ดตัวpâa-chét-dtua (towel).

  This kind of fabric is really good.
ไซส์ sái
size (of clothes: S, M, L) noun

From English 'size', said with a high tone. Sizes are the English letters (S, M, L, XL); shoes and jeans use numbers.
- ตัว dtuaนี้ níiไซส์ sáiอะไร à-raiครับ kráp
  What size is this one?

หลวม lǔam
loose adjective
- หลวม lǔamไป bpaiนิดหน่อย nít-nàwy
  It's a little too loose.
- กางเกง gaang-geengตัว dtuaนี้ níiหลวม lǔamมาก mâak
  These trousers are really loose.
คับ káp
tight adjective

It sounds just like a lazy ครับkráp said without the r, so listen for the context.
- คับ kápไป bpai
  It's too tight.
- รองเท้า rawng-táaoคู่ kûuนี้ níiคับ kápนิดหน่อย nít-nàwy
  These shoes are a little tight.
พอดี paw-dii
just right; fits well adjective

Not too much, not too little: พอดีpaw-dii works for sizes, amounts and timing.
- ตัว dtuaนี้ níiพอดี paw-dii
  This one fits just right.
- ไซส์ sáiนี้ níiพอดี paw-diiมาก mâak
  This size fits perfectly.
ยาว yaao
long adjective
- กระโปรง grà-bproongตัว dtuaนี้ níiยาว yaaoไป bpai
  This skirt is too long.
- เสื้อ sûeaตัว dtuaนี้ níiยาว yaaoนิดหน่อย nít-nàwy
  This top is a bit long.
สั้น sân
short (in length) adjective

Only for length: a short person is เตี้ยdtîa.
- กางเกง gaang-geengตัว dtuaนี้ níiสั้น sânไป bpai
  These trousers are too short.
