The words

- จะ jà
will, going to (+ verb) particle
Short, light and low, right before the verb: จะไปjà bpai will go.
- จะ jàไป bpaiไหน nǎi
Where are you going?
- พรุ่งนี้ prûng-níiจะ jàไป bpaiตลาด dtà-làat
Tomorrow I'm going to the market.

free (not busy); empty, vacant adjective
- พรุ่งนี้ prûng-níiว่าง wâangไหม mǎi
Are you free tomorrow?
- ห้องน้ำ hâwng-náamว่าง wâangไหม mǎi
Is the bathroom free?

- ยุ่ง yûng
busy adjective
Thais often just say ไม่ว่างmâi wâang, 'not free'.
- วันนี้ wan-níiยุ่ง yûngมาก mâak
I'm really busy today.

- เสาร์อาทิตย์ sǎo-aa-tít
the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) noun
- เสาร์อาทิตย์ sǎo-aa-títนี้ níiว่าง wâang
I'm free this weekend.

now, right now adverb
- ตอนนี้ dtawn-níiอยู่ yùuที่ไหน tîi-nǎi
Where are you right now?
- ตอนนี้ dtawn-níiยุ่ง yûngนิดหน่อย nít-nàwy
I'm a bit busy right now.

- เดี๋ยว dǐaw
in a moment; hold on adverb
On its own, เดี๋ยวนะdǐaw ná means 'hang on a second'.
- เดี๋ยว dǐawมา maa
I'll be right back.

- เจอ joe
to meet, to see; to find verb
You know it from แล้วเจอกันláew joe gan (see you): 'then we meet'.
- เจอ joeกัน ganที่ tîiสถานี sà-tǎa-nii
Let's meet at the station.
- เจอ joeกัน ganพรุ่งนี้ prûng-níi
See you tomorrow.

- เที่ยว tîaw
to go out, to visit for fun, to travel verb
ไปเที่ยวbpai tîaw is going somewhere for fun: a trip, a night out, a day at the market.
- อยาก yàakไป bpaiเที่ยว tîawเชียงใหม่ chiang-mài
I want to visit Chiang Mai.

- ดีกว่า dii gwàa
better; let's … instead (in suggestions) phrase
Put it after a suggestion: กินที่นี่ดีกว่าgin tîi-nîi dii gwàa let's eat here instead.
- นั่ง nângรถไฟฟ้า rót-fai-fáaดีกว่า dii gwàa
Let's take the skytrain instead.

- เสร็จ sèt
to finish; finished, done verb
After another verb: กินเสร็จแล้วgin sèt láew I've finished eating.
- ซักผ้า sák pâaเสร็จ sètแล้ว láew
I've finished the laundry.

- ต้องไปแล้ว dtâwng bpai láew
I have to go now; gotta go phrase
- ต้องไปแล้ว dtâwng bpai láewนะ ná
I've got to go now, okay?

weather; air noun
- วันนี้ wan-níiอากาศ aa-gàatดี dii
The weather's nice today.

Thai calendars count Buddhist years: 2026 is the year 2569.
- ปี bpiiนี้ níiอยาก yàakไป bpaiเชียงใหม่ chiang-mài
This year I want to go to Chiang Mai.
